Contact the event host directly with any questions about an event.

Our "Hanover Community Calendar" is populated with events submitted by you! This calendar highlights non-profit, special and neighbor events all across our area.

Hosting an event? If you, or an area organization, is hosting an event let us know. Event postings should follow these parameters:

    1. The event must take place within Hanover County OR be hosted by a Hanover Chamber member
    2. The event must be community focused and intended to provide support, fundraising, care or fun to area residents and chamber members
    3. Note this calendar is not intended for reoccurring seminars or group meetings, sales events or workshops given by individual for-profit companies

    When you submit events, please be sure to include the date, time, location/address, web link and an image or logo. Community calendar postings that fit our criteria will be made publicly visible on our website and in newsletters within a week of being sent to us; send events 4-6 weeks in advance for maximum exposure.       December 13th at 10:00 AM. This hour is perfect for children aged 0 to 6 and their families, featuring holiday-themed cartoons, coloring, and live storytelling.

      Citizen Information Meeting

       Tuesday, December 16th | 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

      9450 Atlee Station Rd, Mechanicsville

      Chickahominy Middle School Cafeteria

      The Hanover County Department of Public Works has scheduled a citizen information meeting conserning the proposed roadway improvements to widen Atlee Station Road (Route 637) from it's intersection with Sliding Hill Road (Route 656) to it's intersection with Castle Tower Road (Route 1860) and Forest Drive.

      The purpose of this meeitng it to present the preliminary schedule and plans for improvements to the intersection and obtain the public's feedback on the proposed design. The meeting will begin with a presentation followed by a Q&A with county representatives.

      Barter Theatre brings their latest production "I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas" and tickets are on sale now! Bring the family out on Wednesday December 17 for a musical adventure.

      "It’s Christmas time at the Ypsilanti Zoo, and everyone there eagerly anticipates the birth of Bella, the zoo’s first baby hippo. Seven-year-old Lois Jean, the zookeeper’s daughter, is especially excited—she’s counting on Bella to reunite her family in time for the holidays. Then the unexpected happens, and only one person can prevent tragedy. Will Santa arrive in time to save Bella—and Christmas? A heartwarming musical adventure for the whole family!"
