Hanover County is located just 12 miles north of the City of Richmond (Virginia's capital) and just two hours from DC, Virginia Beach and the Blue Ridge Mountains. It has has unique shops, great food, rivers, trails, parks and so much more. It is also known for its "Hanover tomatoes." Rich in history, Hanover County is the birthplace of Patrick Henry, and Hanover Courthouse is the third-longest continuous-use courthouse in the United States. There are a number of historical sites to visit. Hanover County is home to Randolph-Macon College and is known for having a great public school system and a community-minded Sheriff's Office. It is 474 square miles of farmland, rural and suburban living and diverse businesses. In short, Hanover County is a great place to live, work, play.
